Download & Set up Cisco AnyConnect VPN is a simple process if you observe the steps below.
Requirements
Before the administrator commence, confirm the below requirements:
- platform compatibility: Windows 7+, Mac OS, or Ubuntu/CentOS.
- Admin rights on the machine.
- Internet connection for the retrieval.
Download procedure
1. Open a web browser such as Chromium, Mozilla Firefox, or Edge.
2. Go to the Cisco vendor website or your enterprise portal.
3. Locate the AnyConnect installer for your platform.
4. Click the download link and save the package.
Verify the download
Once the download, confirm the package:
- Size should agree with the listed figure.
- If available, confirm the digital signature.
Install on Windows
1. Right-click the installation file and choose Open with admin rights.
2. Follow the screen prompts:
- Accept the license.
- Choose the standard features.
3. Finalize the installation and log off and on if prompted.
Install on macOS
1. Open the dmg and double-click the pkg.
2. Follow the installer guide, enter administrator password when prompted.

Install on Linux

2. Run the setup script with sudo privileges, for example:
sudo ./vpn_install.sh
3. Follow the console prompts to finish the setup.
Connect to a VPN
1. Launch the AnyConnect.
2. Enter the gateway URL.
3. Provide your login details and any 2FA code.
4. Click Establish connection and confirm the connection status.
Troubleshooting
If you run into issues:
- Verify network connectivity.
- Power cycle the software.
- Remove and reinstall the client.
